TEST : AMS Cancun 2011 FS9

Hot Test. Aviation Multimedia Studios, AMS's come back is an impressive surprise in this year 2011. The designer was producing FS9 sceneries in 2004-2005. Six years later, these guys still stick to FS9, have enhanced their technics and learnt FSX. The result is Cancun 2011 (MMUN). Now let's take a look at quality../.

I took around twenty shots of the scenery, day and dusk. In this 48 mb file, the scenery includes the airport, two parallel runways and air bridges, the famous resorts hotels along the beach and Kukulcan boulevard and the city of Cancun itself.
The airport is depicted in large details, nothing is missing. There are a lot of photoreal textures on several buildings and in front of terminals. There is even a road traffic passing under the air bridges. The only thing i didn't like personaly are the forest areas (see screen).

High definition textures on buildings

All the parkings represented with a lot of static objects

The forest areas. Hmm.. could have been better.

The famous Kukulcan Bld and its resorts hotels.

The city of Cancun. Not too bad and enhanced by a lot of buildings.

Photoreal textures everywhere (almost).

The resorts hotels at dusk.

Conclusion :

This is undeniable, Cancun 2011 scenery is a huge work and includes a lot of places.
Technically, it's good and you can admire a lot of high definition textures on buildings. Of course, the photoreal ground textures suffer from FS9 limitations but that should'nt worry FS9 users. The resorts hotels are nice but could have been slightly better. In term of price and quality, Cancun 2011 certainly equals what we already saw in Mexico city airport for instance. But personally,  i am placing A.M.S. under Bajasim (and we are still waiting for David Aquino's own MMMX...). Competition is good. A new player in this market is good.

A small element of comparison : San Jose del cabo (Bajasim)
