FSX. Captain's log, stardate 2282. I am zooming on my Google Earth v.55 auto dynamic-satellized screen just to take a look at our Pacifica ocean. Nothing. All has been engulfed and overwhelmed by water for a long time. Sad. But suddenly..., i remember of an old scenery simulation from the 21st century, picturing some islands. Let's fly there and explore what they called the Marshall...
The editor, Pacific Islands Simulation, had already designed Kosrae and the Atoll of Tuvalu. It's not their first work in Pacifica. They chose this time the Marshall but developers have been worried by the size of the files. Marshall takes 497 mb of datas. They put some ambiant sounds and high definition textures (15, 30 or 60 cm/pixel). I wanted to buy one of these islands sceneries, so no regrets and i still have to explore things here.
After a first look, i am a bit disappointed. They [P.I.S.] had to get rid of Kwajalein island, i didn't see static aircrafts, nor animals (but birds) and i could not find a way to go directly to the small airfields that aren't in the defaut FS list. It's a pity the team didn't create some "departure point" file to take care of that.
Obviously, we are supposed to fly to these islands no matter how long it takes. But usually we like to take a look at these places first is'nt ?
The price is also way too expensive (25 €/30 $). Of course, it takes time to design such a scenery but 25 € is expensive for 8 airports/airfields.
But i suppose.. it's the Marshall's... Who will design this place if not Pacific Islands Simulation ?
If we find new interesting things here, we'll write an update.
Updated : First flight PKMJ, Ine and Tinak. Despite my fears, it was a wonderful flight. With REX environment, the sea is wonderful and approachs on these islands is thrilling. it was a short flight, about 20 min but really nice. Next one will be at dusk. Good scenery eventually.
